Vincent (Vince) Creo’s involvement with Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center began with the birth of his daughter, Meredith. Born in Sam’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) 14 years ago, Meredith and her father have been raising funds and awareness for the hospital’s pediatric care services for more than five years.

“The care Meredith received from both the nurses and physicians was tremendous,” Mr. Creo says. “It is state-of-the-art pediatric care.”

An active father-daughter volunteer team, Mr. Creo is on the pediatric philanthropy committee for Morristown Medical Center and Meredith is in the Kids4Kids philanthropic youth group.

“We are both involved,” he says.

Together, they plan carnivals, bake sales, charity basketball games, and so on. He explained that Kids4Kids gives young people an opportunity to present their philanthropic ideas and watch them come to fruition.

“The youth are instilled with the idea of giving back,” he says, “and, we hope, when they are adults and have children of their own, the cycle will continue.”

To further support quality pediatric care at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Mr. Creo has made a gift of his life insurance policy to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center. He notes that life insurance is a simple gift to make.

“It is easy to do. It’s just a matter of a beneficiary designation,” he says.

Employed as an insurance agent at the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Creo understands that a gift of life insurance costs little yet can result in a sizable benefit to Goryeb’s Children’s Hospital. A life insurance gift is also something he can do now.

“I am not wealthy by any stretch,” he says, “but you don’t have to be a millionaire to have an impact.”

With this gift, he says, “I can give back to a place that serves the community well.”
